| Birthing From Within® An Extra-Ordinary Childbirth Class Parents and birth attendants can influence, but not control how a birth unfolds. Birthing From Within® is a holistic approach that gives parents the tools to birth naturally and to birth-in-awareness when the journey takes unexpected turns. BFW classes are unlike any other childbirth classes. Parents learn lots of practical information about labor, birth, and what to expect, through thought-provoking dialogues, interesting videos, and unique and memorable exercises. Class by class, parents practice and master a variety of proven pain-coping exercises and build their confidence. They also explore the wise and compassionate use of drugs and epidurals. Classes meet as small groups of three to six couples in a comfortable, nurturing class environment. We recommend scheduling this class to end by 34-36 weeks of gestation to allow time for further study and practice. Advance registration is required. Six week series plus 1 postpartum reunion to be scheduled with participants. Fee includes the Birthing From Within Keepsake Journal and materials.
