Baby CareNewborn Basics A Must-Have for First-Time Expectant Parents. Some of the most common things new parents wonder after their baby arrives are, "Is that normal?" and "Are we doing this right?" The wealth of information in this class can help you be more prepared and have fewer anxieties once your baby is here. Learn what to expect from your baby's senses, reflexes, states of alertness, and other newborn characteristics. Also learn basic baby care skills through hands-on practice--whether you are a beginner or have experience with newborns, this class will put your mind more at ease about handling: * diapering * bathing * umbilical cord care * clothing * holding and passing your baby * eating and sleeping patterns (or lack thereof!) * burping and bottlefeeding * crying * signs of illness * basic safety * common concerns * and more... Both parents or primary caregivers are encouraged to attend. All classes are kept small to allow for demonstration, practice, and discussion of individual needs.
