Facilitated by Bridget Owen, LC This is an open mom's group, for breastfeeding moms to connect with other moms who understand this amazing and challenging time! This group is a chance for moms to get out of their in-home routine, and share their joys, challenges, questions, wisdom, and experiences with other moms in the supportive, small group environment at Harmony. Harmony's Breastfeeding Moms Group is open to any mom looking for information, connection, friendship, and support -- especially around, but not limited to breastfeeding-related topics. It is facilitated by Lactation Consultant (and Harmony mom of 2) Bridget Owen. There is no age limitation for babies, so moms should come whenever they feel it is appropriate for their needs and schedule. In addition to general sharing, this is a great place for questions from milk supply, latch, and nursing in public to introducing bottles, solids, and even weaning, since this group offers a safe and comfortable way to get the support and help of other moms and a trained Lactation Consultant. Some moms have questions about whether their baby is getting enough food, and some just like the chance to weigh her/him to reassure themselves (or sometimes to reassure concerned family members). Breastfeeding your baby can be an incredible and rewarding experience for both you and your baby, but getting there is not easy for many moms and babies. Some challenges may arise in the first days & weeks, and some questions may not come up for several months, so having the support of others means you always have a resource to turn to help you and your baby get in sync and find your best fit together. Come have a cup of tea and share, complain, laugh, or cry with others who can understand, and learn some new tips and techniques to make your life a little easier and your bond with your child stronger and more relaxed. Facilitated by Bridget Owen, lactation consultant. These groups are open for you to drop-in any and all weeks you can make it! Fee is on a sliding scale, at your discretion, of $5-$20 dollars per visit.
