Dad's Group
It’s not ALL about the Moms!
Finally some time for dads to connect about what it’s like to be a father the rewards and the challenges! Society expects a lot from modern dads, but hasn’t caught up to honoring their unique needs for support.
Harmony dads have spoken, and we're more than happy to offer this much needed opportunity!
Becoming a father can be amazing and tough -- and it is different from a woman's experience of becoming a mother. This casual, open group was started out of many requests from dads in our classes for an opportunity for to connect about their half of this incredible experience!
The transition to parenthood changes many things, and the whole family does better when both mom and dad get to talk & laugh with others who understand the journey. And most couples find that some venting and conversations are better had separately -- not with one another -- but instead with just dads or just moms, and in a safe & confidential setting!
Come commiserate and celebrate your new role as Dad and your incredible child!
This group is facilitated by Ollie Moore, Dad Prep instructor, Director of Child Care Services at the YWCA of Silicon Valley, and father of two.
Expectant dads and dads of any age baby or child are welcome. Fathers are welcome to bring their baby or come alone. Children older than about 12 months should not come, so dads can talk freely.
This group is open for you to drop-in any and all weeks you can make it! We ask a small donation towards the time and space of $5 - $15, totally at your discretion according to your financial ability. If you cannot afford to pay anything, please come anyway!
