Kid's Yoga
For Ages 5 - 11
This class is about feeling good and being amazed at the things you can do! Yoga teaches children and pre-teens how to be in their body and make decisions from their heart.
Yoga can develop kid's coordination, balance, strength, flexibility, and focus in a positive and non-competitive environment. Students have fun cooperating and socializing with their peers, while their yoga practice also helps them gain self-confidence, self-love, and respect for others.
These skills and qualitites are invaluable in helping to foster a grounded individual who can successfully navigate life in our contemporary fast-paced world. In this class, kids learn to create community for support, release, and relaxation in their daily lives -- a skill that will serve them greatly through their teen-aged and adult years.
They will learn and practice vital self-relaxation techniques as well as tools for de-stressing in a positive way and channeling their energy into creative outlets. These practices are especially helpful for kids with high energy and/or short attention spans -- they needn't be "yogis" already to participate!
Advance Registration Required. Minimum registration 4, maximum 10.
We will hold independent classes in January and early February, as samples of what will be included in the series. Come play and try it out, and make sure to tell your friends and reserve your spots for the series!
